THE BIO

Ashley Wilburn is a native of Hagerstown in Maryland. She graduated from North Hagerstown High School where she completed her secondary education. Ashley Wilburn's legal career is centered around family law. She has a love for it. She focuses the majority of her work on divorce cases, alimony disputes divorce property distribution and child custody battles. child support arrangements, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, enforcement and post-divorce issues as well as step-parent and private party adoptions as well as concerns regarding child welfare. Ashley has been as a mediator appointed by the court since 2019, assisting parties in helping them resolve their matters without needing court involvement. Ashley mediates private disputes as well as court-appointed mediations for people who want to stay clear of court proceedings and litigation.

Ashley completed her undergraduate studies in History and Politics at Loyola University of Maryland. Then, she pursued her legal education through Western New England University School of Law. After graduating in 2013, she excelled academically, placing among the top 10 students in her class. Ashley was an editor at the Western New England Law Review during her time at law school. This proved her dedication to scholarship and research in the field of law.

Ashley began her clerkship path after completing her law degree. She was employed by renowned jurists from Connecticut and Maryland. She was privileged to be being a law assistant for the Honorable Richard A. Robinson and the Honorable Elliott D. Prescott at the Connecticut Appellate Court. Subsequently, in 2014, she returned to her hometown of Hagerstown to clerk for the Honorable M. Ashley joined Poole & Kane P.A. in 2015 as an associate attorney. As an associate attorney. Her primary focus was representing the Washington County Department of Social Services in matters pertaining to child welfare. Ashley's tireless efforts were instrumental in helping children who were victims of neglect or abuse at care of their parents or caregivers. Her commitment to tackling social injustice went beyond her legal profession when she was a member of the Washington County Human Trafficking Task Force. She was a tireless worker to educate the public about human trafficking within the tri-state region.

In 2017, she was a founding member of Kane, Wilburn & Stone, P.A., and developed her expertise in family law, including custody, divorce, child maintenance and guardianships – as well as financial and estate planning, wills, trusts and powers of attorney, advance directives/healthcare proxy and mediation.

Ashley established Wilburn Law Office, LLC, 2023, with the goal of providing a customized approach to each client's need.
